PROPOSAL ENGINEER to prepare written quotes in response to verbal or written customer RFQ's.BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in the machine tool industry. Able to use AutoCad for proposal drawings. Good verbal and written communication skills. Adaptive to changes in priorities and project scope. Excellent cross functional communication skills. Self managed after receiving direction.* Ability to understand customer requirements and specifications* Develop parameters of proposal in consultation with Sales Dept., Engineering, technicians and vendors* General cost and labor estimate utilizing Microsoft Project software. Typical cost breakdown shall include labor hours by task, engineering hours, debug, run-off, components cost, purchased services cost, contingencies, etc. Obtain cost information through historical internal costs, previous jobs, vendor quotes, engineering hour estimates and labor hour estimates.* Prepare scope of work including all facets of the work to be performed* Prepare proposal drawings or sketches as required* Communicate with customers and vendors verbally and in writing* Travel with account executives as needed* Assist Sales in writing up customer orders* Interface with vendors on projects* Prepare reports of project completion schedule* Assist in ISO/QS-9000 document administrationFull benefit package including medical, dental, life insurance, L/T disability and retirement.
